Jan Patek.  I already know the best thing about Spring Market 2019 in Kansas City is that Jan will be there - she's local.

Happy Block Heads Wednesday!  Happy December... what?  December?  Already?  That means two things - this year has flown by.  And the Block Heads book has been published!

Moda Block Heads v. 1 - the book.  It has all forty-eight blocks, a lot of tips and variations, and six quilt layouts.  

This is Jan's quilt.  I love the center block - it brings to mind the block Jan designed for her legendary Girl's Gang Club.

Michele used Moda's wools for her appliqué - and the background is from Collections for a Cause - Compassion by Howard Marcus.

Have you seen Jan's beautiful new Sweet Violet collection?  It was shown to shops in August and September, and will be available in February.

The quilt shown above is Tugley Wood Farms Block of the Month and it has one of my favorite Jan-things - the different border fabrics.  I don't know if Jan "invented" that but I can say that when I discovered Jan's books in the late 1980s and early 1990s, it was the first time I'd seen it done.  

Tugley Wood Farms measures 42" x 46" - it's a six-month block of the month.

Little House In the Big Garden - at 88" x 88", this is perfect for queen-sized bed.  (Like maybe MY bed.)

Welcome!  At 26" x 16", this is the perfect size for a runner, wall-hanging or pillow.  (That is a standard-size pillow insert... just saying.)

Beeskep and Violets.  

Home Sweet Log Cabin Home.  This quilt measures 56" x 56" but it can easily be made larger... throw or bed-sized larger.
