Back Porch is about relaxing with friends on a lazy summer afternoon. Porch swings, iced tea, laughter and maybe a ceiling fan.  This summer's quilt-along was inspired by the Back Porch fabric collection from Me and My Sister Designs - shipping to stores in August.

INGREDIENTS

From Fabric A, Cut:
(4) 3½” squares
(4) 3½” x 6½” rectangles

From Fabric B Cut:
(4) 2” squares
(4) 2” x 3½” rectangles
(8) 3½” squares

From Fabric C Cut:
(8) 2” squares
(4) 1¼” squares
(4) 1¼” x 2” rectangles

From Fabric D Cut:
(8) 1¼” squares
(1) 2” square

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: Inner Star

Draw a line on the wrong side of each 1¼" red square. Make 4 sets of flying geese using the 1¼" x 2" light blue background rectangles and the 1¼" red squares by sewing on the drawn line. Sew the pieces into 3 rows, then press.

**If you would rather not make a 3½" star for the center, you may omit all of the first section and substitute a light blue 3½" square in its place.

Step 2: Middle Star

Draw a line on the wrong side of each of the 2” light blue squares. Make 4 sets of flying geese using the 2" x 3½" dark blue rectangles and the 2" light blue squares, by sewing on the drawn line. Sew the pieces into 3 rows as shown, then press.

Step 3: Outer Star

Draw a line on the wrong side of each 3½” dark blue square. Make 4 sets of flying geese using the 3½" x 6½" white rectangles and the 3½" dark blue squares by sewing
on the drawn line. Sew the pieces into 3 rows, then press.

Trim block to 12½” unfinished size.
